ACCOMMODATIONS
We have been told that Campus Towers has been solidly booked already, although
delegates may phone Campus Towers to confirm that information. Attendees
should not be concerned about access to the University if they choose to
stay in one of the downtown hotels. Although they are across the
North Saskatchewn River from the University, most of the downtown hotels
are located within easy walking distance of one of the LRT stations along
Jasper Avenue, which are only a few stops away from the University of Alberta.
For example, the Inn on Seventh, where the Banquet is taking place, is
located just one block south of the Corona LRT station. The Varscona Hotel
(formerly the Renford Inn on Whyte), a newly-renovated medium-priced hotel
located on Whyte (82nd) Avenue in the Old Strathcona area, a pleasant but
brisk 20-minute walk from the Fine Arts Building/Timms Centre.
