The Noam Chomsky Lectures: A Canadian Postmodern Politics
In this paper I argue The Noam Chomsky Lectures by Daniel Brooks and
Guillermo Verdecchia serves as an example of how postmodernism and politics
can meet in a theatrical setting. Drawing from the theories of Frederic
Jameson, with a critical analysis of the play’s self-reflexivity, meta-theatricality,
and deconstruction of aesthetic conventions, I show how The Noam Chomsky
Lectures is a cognitive map, guiding its audience through the complexities
of contemporary society.
